Shawn Christian Porter (born October 27, 1987) is an American professional boxer. He is a two-time welterweight world champion, having held the WBC title from 2018 to 2019, and previously the IBF title from 2013 to 2014. As of August 2019, Porter is ranked as the world's fourth best active welterweight by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and Boxrec, and fifth by The Ring magazine. He is particularly known for his aggressive pressure fighting style, physical strength and high workrate.
Porter fought Errol Spence Jr. on September 28, 2019 with the IBF and WBC welterweight titles on the line. Porter lost by split decision with the judges scoring it 116–111, 116–111, 112–115. It was arguably a fight of the year candidate.
